ALASTAIR LYNCH A pomising career that hit a major health hurdle that was jumped and bounced back in a huge way 306 Games, 633 Goals. Premiership Player for the Brisbane Lions in 2001, 2002 and 2003. Captained the Brisbane Lions 1997-2000, Selected as an All-Australian in 1993, Fitzroy's Leading Goal-Kicker 1993, Brisbane Bears / Lions Leading Goal-Kicker in 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003. Member of both Fitzroy and Tasmania's Team of the Centuries.
Alastair was initially inducted with Pick No.123 into the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame, upgraded to "Legend" status in 2006 and finally upgraded to "Icon" status in 2010.
Beating chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) was his greatest achievement. An Australian Rules footballer at the height of his career, was sleeping 18 hours a day. He couldn't play, and didn't know if he would ever play again. He didn't know what was wrong, until he discovered he had chronic fatigue syndrome, a condition that affects hundreds of thousands of Australians. But Alastair overcame CFS, giving other sufferers a reason to believe that they, too, can enjoy life again. Alastair's story of his fight to get up and play, his determination to enjoy life with his family, and decision to never, ever take his health for granted needs to be heard. |

DARYN CRESSWELL World at your feet, life backflips a million miles and a comeback from nowhere Played 244 Games with the Sydney Swans (AFL), Kicked 208 Goals, Won Sydney's Best and Fairest (Bob Skilton Medal) 1994, Selected in the All-Australian Team in 1997, Inducted No.128 in the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame and is a member of both the Tasmanian Team of the Century and the Sydney Swans Team of the Century.
Daryn’s personal downfall is now well known. It’s a complicated, troubling and extremely sad story, Like far too many Australians, Daryn gambled. At first it was fun but with terrifying speed it became an obsessive disease. He let people down. At his most desperate, he made horrible mistakes. In the end he went to prison. If he didn’t land in the clink, he probably would have taken his own life.
These days Daryn has remarried, runs a succesful landscaping business, has had a impressive time coaching in Queensland initially with Palm Beach Currumbin (QAFL) winning a Premiership before moving down and now coaching in the strong Ovens and Murray League in Country Victoria. "Cressa" is also doing a lot of speaking engagements for sporting clubs in Melbourne on Gambling and Vic Responsible Gambling.
What a story - from the highs and lows of his life. This story needs to be told to sporting clubs and community groups as we need to educate the wrongs and rights of life. |

DAVID FOSTER One of Tassie's Greatest Sporting Identities and very inspirational David Foster is the first person in sporting history to have won 1000 championships. This was achieved at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 1998 and widely reported by media both in Australia and overseas. David has represented Australia since 1980 and was captain of Australia for 21 years consecutively. At the 2003 Sydney Royal Easter Show, David announced his retirement as captain of the Australian team, however will hopefully be able to represent his country for many years to come.
He has won the Australian Axeman of the Year a record breaking nine times in a row. In 1990 David was awarded Axeman of the Decade - the accolades just keep coming. There is not a major event in Australia and New Zealand that David hasn't competed in and won - when he competed against the Americans he took three world records from them.
Listen, laugh and be inspired by David Foster, "The big guy from Tasmania," who made good to become one of the greatest world champions in living memory. Whether it be a corporate group, charity or community organisation, David has a message for you. |

JARRYD ROUGHEAD 4-Time Premiership Hero - Been to hell and back... TWICE! Jarryd was pick no.2 in the 2004 National Draft. Going into season 2017 he has played 231 games and kicked 491 goals. "Roughy" has represented Australia in the International Rules Series on one occasion in 2015, been chosen as an All-Australian in 2013 and 2014, won a Coleman Medal (AFL Leading Goal-Kicker) in 2015 and was a nominee for the AFL's Rising Star Award in 2005. Jarryd has played in Hawthorn's last (4) Premiership Teams in 2008, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Off-field things haven't been great for Jarryd over the last two years. In 2015 he missed two games to remove symptoms of melanoma from his lip and in 2016 he missed the entire season due to a recurrence of the melonoma. Thankfully in late 2016 he recieved the news from his doctor that he has been given all the clear to resume a normal life and jump back into training - which is just awesome news.
One of the games greats who has a powerful story to tell about his playing career and looking after yourself. |

TODD RUSSELL Inspirational speaker with an amazing story to tell One of the two survivors of the 2006 Beaconsfield Mine collapse which trapped three miners under hundreds of tonnes of rock. Incredibly, he and fellow miner Brant Webb survived for 14 days almost 1km under ground in a 2 x 4m pocket of air. Sadly, Larry Knight did not survive the disaster. Todd's story is one of the greatest tales of Australian mateship. |
